Detailed itinerary
- Day 1: Pick up from Kigali & transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Welcome to Day 1! Our dedicated driver/guide will be waiting for you at the airport to pick you up once you arrive.
Also, based on the time you arrive, there will be an opportunity for you to visit other locations in Kigali to check out the beautiful craft, fabrics and poetry items being sold. Don’t forget to bargain as much as you can, and remember that every item purchased will be paid by you.
Afterwards you will set out for one of the largest forests in East and Central Africa, which is the Nyungwe Forest National Park.
- Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and afternoon Canopy walk
In the morning, shortly after breakfast, you will proceed for the Chimpanzee trekking. Along the way, you will get to meet different species of monkeys and birds. This will also follow with the fascinating forest Canopy walk which will allow you to have a rich experience of the national park.
- Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Day 3 begins with an exciting drive to the spectacular Volcanoes National Park. On the way to the park, the driver will stop over for every tourist to have the opportunity to take photographs and also have lunch. The day will end with overnight stay at Mountain Gorillas view Hotel.
- Day 4: First Gorilla trekking
The Gorilla trekking will commence in the morning with an initial briefing at the park headquarters. The tracking will follow and may take close to 8 hours which will depend on the pace at which your team is walking. Other activities will follow in the afternoon. The day will end with overnight stay at Mountain Gorillas View Hotel
- Day 5: Golden monkeys trekking / Dian Fossey hiking & Transfer to Bwindi
After the early morning breakfast today, you will have the option of either going for the golden monkey tracking or the Dian Fossey hike at Karisoke Research Center. It was formerly the base of the late Dian, who was an American anthropologist.
- Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park
It’s day-6 already. We will commence the day with breakfast and proceed on a journey to Bwindi National Park. The trip will take us through different routes and you might get to see tree climbing lions and other kinds of animals.
- Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha for tree climbing lions
After breakfast in the morning, the driver will be available to take all tourists to the Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha to have a full view of the tree climbing lions. Afterwards, everyone would embark on a trip for a boat cruise close to the Kazinga Channel. Along the way you will get to see different kinds of birds, crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants. Dinner and overnight lodge is scheduled to take place at the Mweya Safari
- Day 8: Game Drive & transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
The plan for today is for everyone to wake up very early so as to have the opportunity to see different animals in-game before they return to their hide-outs. Animals such as lions, hyenas, leopards and jackals. Lunch will take place at Kibale National Park and Dinner and Overnight stay is scheduled for Crater Safari Lodge.
- Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking
Immediately after breakfast, the driver will move everyone to the park headquarters to meet the park ranger to get required updates and briefing and then drop you off at the location for the chimpanzee trail and return later in the day to convey you to the venue for lunch. Dinner and overnight lodge will take place at Crate Safari Lodge.
- Day 10: Departure
Immediately after breakfast in the morning, the driver will be available to convey you to Kampala at the Entebbe airport for your flight
